BC is Paying to Train Your Employees Date posted April 21st, 2010

With all the talk of stimulus programs, the BC Government’s Workplace training for innovation program has seemed to remain a mostly unknown program outside of the training industry. For those BC small businesses that qualify this is a great program and definately worth a few minutes to learn about.  This program can be used for qualifying training, and the government has offered to pay the bill. The program pays out a maximum of $5000 ($1500 per employee), and although it will not pay to fly your staff to a course, in some cases it is possible to fly the trainer to you. If you plan to use a local company to do the training they will likely have the details of this program. I have seen many trainers in Vancouver and a couple in Langley market their services with this program.

To qualify you must be in good standing with the BC Corporate Registry, have less than 50 employees and be in existence for more than a year. For a complete list of requirements and application details on this program can be found at http://www.aved.gov.bc.ca/workplace_training_program/welcome.htm

We do not do training, or apply for grants and recommend you do your own research or hire someone that does this before applying.
