The Unexpected is Predicable Date posted September 19th, 2011

I find that many who are in debt tell a similar story, “I was ok then I was hit by a couple unexpected expenses.” Personally I cannot remember a year in my adult life that unexpected expenses have not shown up, and this is excluding property tax or other annual expenses that often get lumped into the unexpected category.

For most there is always an unexpected bill around the corner, how is it a surprise?  If we know life is going to through random things at us, why not plan for them?  If you plan for it life stays simple, however scrambling to recover is much more difficult.  The solution is simple, plan for unexpected expenses, if you have enough money set aside and need it is was a good idea, and if you don’t need it, then you are left with extra money.  This is a much better ending than many of the financial disasters I have seen as a result of scrambling to recover.
